The Oaks by the Bayou

The Oaks by the Bayou is a 120-home workforce housing community currently under development in Houma, Louisiana. Designed to serve working individuals and families, the community will provide high quality, attainable apartment homes that expand housing options while supporting the region’s continued economic growth.

The new construction development is strategically located to provide residents with convenient access to employment centers, schools, healthcare, shopping, and essential community services. The Oaks by the Bayou reflects RNDC’s commitment to creating thoughtfully designed housing communities that promote stability, opportunity, and long-term neighborhood investment.
The development is financed through a combination of 4% Low-Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC) and HUD financing. Construction is anticipated to be completed in late 2026, further strengthening RNDC’s portfolio of workforce housing communities across Louisiana.
