Oaklawn Place is an 84-home affordable senior housing community located in Dallas that provides welcoming, high quality housing for older adults, with a preference for serving LGBTQ+ seniors. Developed in partnership with Matthews Southwest and the Resource Center of Dallas, the community was designed to address the unique housing needs of an aging population while fostering an inclusive, supportive environment where residents can age with dignity.

The development transformed a blighted infill site near Dallas Love Field into a vibrant residential community. Located adjacent to a DART light rail station, Oaklawn Place offers residents convenient access to healthcare, shopping, employment, and other essential services through transit-oriented design.

The development was financed through a combination of 9% Low-Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC), Tax Increment Financing (TIF), Federal Home Loan Bank of Dallas funding, and conventional debt. Oaklawn Place demonstrates RNDC’s commitment to developing innovative housing solutions that meet the needs of diverse populations while revitalizing underutilized urban properties.
